IMPRESSIONS OF A MISSION IN NEPAL

October/November 2010

On their return from Nepal, Evelyne Charbonnier, Françoise Faure, Pierrik Fostier gave us their impressions.
Evelyne Charbonnier, who led the Mission told us:

« It was a short mission with a wonderful team spirit.
It gives me great satisfaction to note the very positive results from our actions in all the sites.
It is all due to the preparatory work at Head Office, plus the work of each site representative and the work of our agents on the spot, Eric and Kunsang,
which allow us to have such a successful mission, as this is where our time and your donations are used effectively.
There still remain a lot of projects (to build new classrooms at Palyul, to separate the girls’ and boys’ dormitories at the Snowland Ranag School, to rebuild the school at Manjughoksha, to set up a school for nurses adjoining the Pharping Medical Centre, to start up the sponsorships for handicapped children….) and I am certain that together we will be able to develop further the help which AMTM brings…
On their behalf thank you!
»

Françoise Faure, for whom it was her first mission in the field as the new representative of the Tso Gyal Ge Phel Jong site:

«Immediately there was a feeling of solidarity, flexibility, everything flowed from a well-informed source and was there at the right time and in the right place.  Eric and Kunsang gave us a superb welcome, as well as all the sponsored people, who have the gift of knowing how to receive and to give. Touching is a simple means of contact…
A huge and beautiful involvement from the grown-ups towards the young ones at Dolpo….  The serenity of the elderly...
».

Pierrik Fostier is a doctor who has returned to Nepal for a second mission:

« At the airport before the departure lounge we are on our own……and having passed through the gate we become a team, all of us with one aim in mind…
An abundance of human solidarity at every stage, harmony, co-ordination, team spirit are also among all the people that we have come to help…   No one speaks about himself/herself, everyone is appreciated, with mutual respect…. To give of oneself, to receive: it’s a real privilege….
One year on I have been able to appreciate the work being undertaken and all the team work which is organised, genuine, professional, is carried out in a very positive
atmosphere.  We can be pleased with our work in the field
».
